ملخص البحث    The main research aimed at identifying the using of mind maps strategy in teaching science and knowing its effectiveness in developing imaginative thinking and some of mind habits skills of prep stage pupils. To achieve this, the researcher prepared an imaginative thinking scale, consists of (40) statements and mind habits test ( thinking interdependently, persisting, applying past knowledge to new situation, questioning and posing problems) . Materials of research were applied on a sample of (98) pupils at the second year prep stage. They were divided into two groups, a control group (49) and an experimental group (49) pupil. The following results were obtained after the port-testing: - There are significant mean differences in port-testing on imaginative thinking scale favoring the experimental group and this assures the effectiveness of mind maps strategy in developing imaginative thinking . - There are significant mean differences between the mean scores of the experimental and control groups on mind habits test totally favoring the experimental group. - There are significant mean difference on all mind habits except the thinking interdependently skill which does not appear any significant mean difference and this assure the effectiveness of mind maps strategy in developing mind habits skills except thinking interdependently skill. In light of these results, the researcher submitted some recommendations and suggestions.
